CIB Task Group 86 – Building Healthy Cities Workshop

The International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB) is an international network of experts who cooperate and exchange information in the fields of building and construction related research and innovation. Task Group TG86 – Building Healthy Cities – addresses the planning, design, construction, management and maintenance, and deconstruction of all components of the built environment.

Professor Lidia Morawska, Chair of TG86, warmly invites you to join the TG86 workshop which will be held in association with the 7th International Conference on Energy and Environment of Residential Buildings that is taking place 20-24 November 2016 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. You do not need to be a member of CIB in order to participate in this workshop.

Participate in this TG86 workshop to learn more about cutting- edge ideas and research industry movement of visionary academic researchers, whose solutions get to the street as fast as possible. Contribute your knowledge and expertise to discussions on the links between healthy housing and healthy cities.

 

Meeting Agenda:

  • Overview of purpose and goals of TG86
  • Define Healthy Cities as different to definitions of Smart Cities or Sustainable Cities
  • Identify characteristics of Healthy Houses which apply to the broader city context
  • Review similarities and differences between Healthy Cities and other city typologies (Smart Cities, Sustainable Cities)
  • Inventory international projects related to Healthy Cities
  • Review characteristics and features of Healthy Cities and a suitable weighting/ranking matrix
